Sergeant Brad Bakeman graduated from Bowling Green State University in 2006 with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a Minor in Sociology. He started his career at the Orlando Police Department in August of 2007. As a patrol officer, Sergeant Bakeman worked East and West Patrol, and Downtown bikes. He was the Corporal of a West Patrol and TAC squad. In February of 2017 he was promoted to Sergeant and started back in East Patrol. From there he quickly moved around the department from Downtown Bikes, TAC, and the Special Enforcement Division.

He was selected November of 2019 to be the supervisor of the Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation, Organized Crime and Vice Unit. He oversees all the Human Trafficking investigations throughout the 9th Circuit. His squad responds to patrol call outs in both Orange and Osceola Counties. He has supervised multiple wire taps, in an attempt to dismantle human trafficking organizations since coming to MBI. He regularly speaks to groups and organizations on what human trafficking is and what can be done if someone believes they have witnessed it. He has been the chair of the Central Florida Human Trafficking Task Force since January of 2020.
