May 1: Dr. James Fenton, Director of the UCF’s Florida Solar Energy Center: Florida-Made Energy



Charlie DeFelice is a Technology executive with over 35 years of experience in leadership technology roles in the Financial Services Industry.

James M. Fenton is the director of the University of Central Florida’s Florida Solar Energy Center (FSEC) and a professor of Materials Science and Engineering. He leads more than 70 faculty and staff who research, develop, and evaluate clean energy technologies, and educate the current and future workforce about technology innovations. FSEC has seven major program areas – solar energy, high performance buildings, batteries/fuel cells/electrolyzers, decarbonization, electric transportation, STEM education and workforce training, and energy policy research. Dr. Fenton serves on the Governing Board of the Southeast Hydrogen Energy Alliance (https://seh2.energy/our-story/ ); and serves as the Vice-President of the Electrochemical Society and Chair of the ECS Sustainability Initiative (https://www.electrochem.org/james-m-fenton/ ).
