April 17, 2025 – Tara McCue Executive Director. Central Florida Regional Planning Councip



Tara McCue, AICP, is the Executive Director at the East Central Florida Regional Planning Council, a council of governments covering eight counties and 78 cities in east central Florida. As Executive Director, and under the direction of the RPC Board, Tara is responsible for the administration and operation of the programs and team of the RPC, including a growing multimillion dollar budget.


Tara began her career at the ECFRPC in 2003 and has worked for over two decades to bring together stakeholders and experts from across the region to implement projects, policies, and programs to make east central Florida a healthy, sustainable, thriving, and resilient region for future generations.  Over the past 20 years, she has facilitated multiple projects and programs in the realms of community planning and policy development, resilience and sustainability, health in the built environment, and others. 


Tara has a Bachelor’s in Marine Biology from UNC-Wilmington and a Master’s in Environmental Resource Management from the Florida Institute of Technology.  She currently serves on the Florida Regional Councils Association Executive Committee, City of Oviedo’s Sustainability Task Force, is a member of the Honorary Board of the Florida Greenways and Trails Foundation, and serves on Stetson’s Institute for Water and Environmental Resilience Board of Directors. Tara is also an American Planning Association certified planner and has two published white papers.
